Kelsey Getzinger- A-Team member (Summer leadership team)
Where are you from? I am originally from Onoway, Alberta.
What do you do during the year? I am a student at the University of Alberta studying music. I am going into my 4th and final year, and am majoring in trombone performance.
How did you get connected with Nakamun? My first year at camp as a camper was in 2004. I was at Challengers camp, going into grade 4. I started volunteering in 2009 as a Jr. worker, then a Jr. counselor for 3 years, was a Sr. Counselor for 2 years, and now I am into my 2nd summer as a member of the A-Team. That makes 14 summers of camp, and I still love it!
I heard about camp from a friend. She wanted someone to go with her, so I went. Eventually, she stopped coming to camp, but I never did!
What are you most looking forward to this summer? I'm looking forward to the team and the community. I have been praying about this summer even before I applied, and I feel really good about the staff hired, and am confident that God is going to reach the lives of so many kids this summer!
Prayer request? For wisdom and discernment to be able to handle the situations that come up through the summer. My job is a lot of trouble shooting and decision making, and that requires God's wisdom and good communication as a team.
Kelsey's verse. "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring it's own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." Matthew 6:34
